Project Manager

At JPJ we are an Agile development company working in a highly regulated world, deploying software at scale to a large organization.  We have a number of initiatives that cross many aspects of the business, from software development to marketing, with operational compliance challenges alongside.  We are looking for a Project Manager who can join us and help with cross-business execution of larger scale initiatives. 

Key responsibilities:

  • Partner with business stakeholders to understand their business needs as well as identify and prioritize project requirements.
  • Facilitate effective team meetings: kickoffs, regular status updates, daily catchups where appropriate
  • Assist in business case development for project candidates
  • Define, publish, and maintain Project Charter and Project Plans for approved initiatives
  • Act as a “tool evangelist” to promote PM tools and processes within the company
  • Manage project specification and execution for various sized initiatives, in some cases working on multiple concurrent projects
  • Work with business stakeholders and Product Owners to differentiate between operational tasks and development needs.
  • Act as liason between stakeholders and POs to ensure that MVPs are designed for each of the development needs.
  • Work with operational line managers to schedule and deliver design, content, data analysis, and other non-development project aspects.
  • Synthesize info into concise action items for project participants.  
  • Uncover and remove road blocks which prevent the team from achieving their shared goals.
  • Track projects against delivery metrics and prepare summary reports and other communications, as required.
  • Manage project scope and control scope creep during the project timeline.
  • Work with the delivery team to provide estimates and design solutions.
  • Identify, manage, and mitigate project and team risks.
  • Identify opportunities to improve processes and offer constructive suggestions for change.
  • Apply excellent communications skills, creativity, and practical knowledge to improve processes within the company.



  • Must love working as part of a team to build great solutions
  • Experience within an Agile software environment, preferable Scrum
  • Experience with Atlassian tools (Jira, Confluence) for management and reporting of project status is an asset
  • PMP certification is a strong asset.
  • 3-5 years experience in a Software Project Management or Scrum Master role
  • Experience with iterative development methodologies and continuous delivery practices.
  • Ability to rationalize design decisions in a clear and objective manner.
  • Strong oral and written communications skills.
  • Ability to synthesize information into succinct, concise, and logical written materials (client summaries and reports).
  • Proficiency in Process / Workflow analysis and use-case documentation.
  • Must be an effective team leader - able to motivate teams and guide them through impediments and/or conflict
  • Excellent business presentation and facilitation skills
