Group Head of Operational Compliance

For more information about JPJ Group plc, please visit www.jpjgroup.com.This role is to ensure that each of the businesses within the JPJ Group meet their licensing, regulatory and compliance obligations (irrespective of operating platform). 


  • Ensure that each operating business in the Jackpotjoy group fully complies with its licensing and regulatory requirements
  • Ensure that all “Know your Customer,” Anti Money Laundering (AML) and Combating the Financing of Terrorism (CFT) provisions are fully implemented while being constantly monitored and improved across all operating businesses
  • Where appropriate, to help manage third party relationships and share best practice with them to facilitate compliance with licensing and regulatory requirements
  • Champion the group’s commitment to responsible gaming in line with its licensing and wider obligations
  • Act as the Group’s Money Laundering Reporting Officer (MLRO) and either manage the outsourced Key Official relationship or undertake the Key Official role oneself
  • Ensure all information required by the group’s licences to be made publicly available is effectively discharged
  • Ensure that third parties undertaking JPJ business do so in a compliant manner
  • Conduct and/or direct the internal investigation of compliance issues
  • Identify those operational areas of the business where there may be a risk of non-compliance  (if any) and develop and oversee relevant remedial plans
  • Work with the HR function to help plan communication and training programs to underpin the group’s overall compliance objective
  • Work cohesively and with transparency with the group’s legal services function
  • Continually assess systems to improve the controls environment

The above duties give an overall picture of the employee’s day to day responsibilities. They are not exhaustive and additional duties may be assigned by the line manager in line with business need.

  • A meticulous approach with an eye for detail


  • The role holder will have a comprehensive knowledge of KYC, AML and other licensing and regulatory obligations relevant to the online gaming industry
  • Experience of working in the compliance function of an online gaming business is preferred
  • Experience of working for operating boards and reporting periodically to Audit & Risk Committee meetings of a publicly-quoted company
  • Managing a team to help in the delivery of the group’s operational compliance objectives
  • Experience in identifying the risk of fraud occurring and the appropriate means for detection, investigation and prevention
  • An understanding of IT risk, control and security appropriate to a digital business
  • An understanding of risk management, control and governance through the delivery of compliance
  • Holding a personal management licence issued by the UK Gambling Commission is desirable
