Risk Systems Owner

Jackpotjoy Group is part of Jackpotjoy plc which owns online bingo & casino brands such as JackpotJoy, Starspins, Vera&John, Intercasino, Botemania and Slot Crazy. 

The Risk Systems Owner is tasked with maintaining and updating our risk management rule setup in both internal and 3rd party systems, as well as providing adequate tools for the department to monitor our KPIs. You will be the bridge between the Risk team and the Data and BI Teams and will work hand-in-hand to deliver state-of-the-art reporting as specified with team management.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Create and maintain internal and external business rules such in tools such as Iovation, Risk Guardian, Devcode and other systems ensuring that these reflect our internal risk processes and procedures.
  • Make the department core KPIs your own and ensure that all system configurations are highly optimized to ensure we meet all targets
  • Provide management reports on a monthly basis, outlining performance of all rules and suggesting improvements if and where necessary
  • Together with our internal data team, specify, develop, and maintain dashboards purposely built for our department to monitor KPIs in Tableau
  • Liaise with the relevant stakeholders in the department to highlight and improve metrics in their respective areas
  • On a quarterly basis, present the current state-of-play to your line manager and outline what you will be working on in the next quarter
  • Have regular sit-downs with your line manager and with the Risk & Fraud teams, and ensure you are fully updated with the challenges they are facing. Your role will be taking those challenges and translating them into technical solutions.
  • Take ad-hoc projects onboard and assist in delivering solutions such as the KYC Upload Page.
  • Help transform the way we are working today from a pull-based approach to a push-based approach. Phase out existing excel reports and work with the data teams to implement live alerting. Aim to have a false/positive rate of less than 5%.
  • Ensure that whatever you deliver meets the functional requirements, including Operational Compliance
  • Independently identify areas in the department where we could find efficiencies and build a case specifying why we should change and what benefit the recommendations will bring.

SKILLS AND PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES

  • Previous KYC or risk management experience in the gambling and/or finance sector is a must.
  • Minimum of 2 years experience in a similar capacity within Gambling.
  • Understanding and familiar with risk & fraud processes, ongoing fraud trends and changes in legislation, to ensure operational compliance
  • Strong investigation, risk analysis, assessment and decision-making skills
  • Ability to identify risk and escalate matters containing potentially suspicious activities or policy violations, or matters that may pose a higher risk to the group
  • Strong organisational and prioritisation skills
  • Factual, data-driven and detail oriented
  • Outgoing personality
  • Good team player
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
