Training & Development Manager

Providing a pro-active, professional and commercially driven Training & Development (T&D) service to the region, with emphasis on Employee Onboarding, Identification of Training Needs, Performance Management, Learning Management System (LMS), Management & Skills Training and Legal & Technical training activities across the region. Working with the other T&D Managers and the Group T&D Consultant in providing the business with enhanced leadership capabilities, increased employee retention and individual behaviours aligned with Jackpotjoy’s core values. Ensuring the region’s Training & Development Plans and activities supports business requirements and organisational goals in line with the global and regional People Operations strategy.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • To undertake an identification of training needs and prioritises that support both the company business plans and the regional employee training & development needs.
  • To assist the Senior Management / Heads of Department to prepare Departmental T&D Plans for their departments and then facilitate these plans accordingly;
  • To work with the relevant regional management to plan, organise and facilitate T&D activities for all employees within the region. Effectively map and communicate the training plans and schedules, sourcing/designing and developing training programs (outsourced or in-house) in close liaison with all other T&D Managers to maximise economies of scale and the sharing of best practice.
  • To provide appropriate training & advisory support with the Performance Review process in close liaison with the Regional HR Manager, other T&D Managers and CHRO.
  • To create an overall annual Regional T&D Plan for the region that addresses internal needs, requirements and expectations and undertake an annual Training Review of the plan at the end of each year.
  • To work with the Regional HR Manager, CHRO, other T&D Managers and the Group T&D consultant to establish and develop identified High Potentials development programme.
  • To ensure that the Group’s T&D ‘principles’ are adhered to within the region.
  • To promote and facilitate the use of Coaching as a key leadership skill across the region.
  • Manage, coordinate and administer all regionally required Legal & Technical training (eg First Aid, Fire, GDPR, etc).
  • To maintain and develop the LMS system & eLearning in liaison with the other T&D Managers so as to maximise learning through the use of technology across the Group.
  • To manage and facilitate the regional new employee onboarding process including Induction / Welcome Days, Welcome Packs, New Joiner Checklist
  • To track training KPIs, monitor and evaluate the effectiveness and success of all regional T&D activities and programmes, both internal & externally provided.
  • To establish and oversee the T&D expenditure (budget) in liaison with the Regional HR Manager and CHRO, wherever possible sourcing external funding opportunities.
  • To manage all external T&D providers, in close liaison with other T&D Managers, ensuring that the company is always gaining ‘value for money’.

Requirements: 

  • A minimum of 5 years’ experience in service-oriented organisation, including the coordination and delivery of annual Training Plans
  • A high level of interpersonal skills allowing them to successfully influence senior management and promote the benefits of T&D
  • Understanding of various training & development theories, for example TGROW, Situational Leadership and the Change Curve
  • Training delivery & facilitation experience in a range of people skills course covering such topics as giving & receiving feedback, performance management, coaching, Training and team-work.
  • A thorough understanding of technology and its role in supporting effective training & development, from eLearning to LMS systems
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and confidence learning new systems;
  • A keen interest in progressing their career in the area of Training and Development;
  • Confident and outgoing with strong communication and interpersonal skills;
  • Fluency in spoken and written English;
  • A meticulous approach with an eye for detail and a personal value towards confidentiality, professionality, and integrity.
