Payments Business Analyst

The Payments Business Analyst role is a key strategic part of the Payments & Risk Team - the role will have a critical part to play in ensuring that we don’t only offer our customers local payment solutions, but that we enhance both our internal tools as well as the front-end through UX and UI enhancements across all channels. As the Payments BA you will also play a pivotal role in on boarding new payment providers by documenting / specifying the business needs which will then be passed on to the Payments Product Owner for prioritisation.

The role will require good communication skills in working with stakeholders throughout the business, namely Commercial, Product, Data, Finance and all tech teams. Previous payments experience in creating business specifications, project management and defining ROI within an igaming environment is considered an asset for this role.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Identify, design, document, deliver new tools and payment functionalities
  • Translate business requirements into concrete solutions by defining cost and ROI for every improvement to help the Product Owner and Head of Payments prioritise these requirements
  • Liaise with the different stakeholders within the operations team to identify improvements needed to become more autonomous in our day-to-day running of the department
  • Maintain a close watch over payment performance trends and take mitigating action where needed.
  • Work closely with the product owner, payment operations manager and head of payment by managing the backlog and liaising with the right people to deliver improvements within a reasonable time frame
  • Integrate, own and deliver future proof internal tools used to manage internal escalations.
  • Be involved in weekly meetings with business stakeholders to have full awareness of current challenges and progress made within the Payments product.
  • Anticipate future challenges in line with the company strategy and deliver improvements in order to have a robust payments architecture in place.
  • Research local payments solutions in our core markets and make relevant recommendations to the Head of Payments by providing the right business cases
  • Take the role of Project Manager in determined projects and ensure all key stakeholders are kept updated with progress made in the different areas.
  • Document and maintain existing processes, namely payment routing, payment method availability, payment fees etc. and ensure all this information is kept updated. 

SKILLS AND PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES

  • 5+ years experience in payments within the igaming sector
  • Good interpersonal skills, and ability to understand the business need but also challenge the question that is being posed
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Good communication skills, confidence in presenting your requirements to key decision makers
  • A passion for innovation with an entrepreneurial spirit
  • A logical and inquisitive mind
  • Enthusiastic, positive and self-disciplined
  • Able to pick up new concepts quickly
  • Able to work as part of a team or on own initiative
  • Able to adapt to a fast moving environment

DESIRABLE SKILLS

  • Knowledge of Kanban or Scrum techniques
  • Risk Management, KYC, Fraud and experience
  • University degree in Information technology, or a related field
