Financial Controller

The successful individual will be responsible for managing and coaching junior and senior employees within the operational finance team to ensure high quality deliverables. 

Overall objectives of role

  • Assist the Head of Operational Finance with ensuring operational finance delivers its monthly and quarterly reporting requirements in an accurate and timely manner
  • Assist with providing the business Insight rather than just numbers when reporting financial results

Specific areas of involvement

  • Managing efficiently the day-to-day and month end record keeping and financial transactions
  • Preparing monthly/quarterly management reporting to be delivered to corporate HQ
  • Managing and coaching of senior & junior employees within the operational finance team to ensure high quality deliverables
  • Investigating variances against budgets and providing variance analysis
  • Ad hoc reporting and other accounting tasks as required
  • Managing the quarterly review and annual audit process and preparation of the annual statutory financial statements
  • Preparation of quarterly VAT returns
  • Ensuring internal controls related to financial reporting operate effectively and are appropriate for a publicly listed company
  • Monitoring key processes with the finance team and suggest improvements

Skills and requirements

  • Prior iGaming experience is a must.
  • Superior communication skills with a requirement to be able to articulate insight in a way that can easily be understood by a varied audience who are not necessarily accounting experts
  • Experience in setting up controls/working in a control environment of a publicly listed company.
  • Ability to manage time in a way that prioritises the most important tasks
  • Qualified accountant, with minimum 7yrs PQE in a finance management role
  • High energy, ambition and entrepreneurial spirit with ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
  • Requirement to travel where necessary as face-to-face communication is an important part of the role
  • Advance knowledge of excel
  • Excellent organisational, analytical and numerical skills
  • Strong ethics, with an ability to manage confidential data
